Description:

The Potomac Heritage Trail is a 800-mile network of paths connecting notable outdoor phenomena in the areas of Chesapeake Bay through to the Allegheny Highlands. Travelers can hike the trail and in some areas bike or horseback ride; the trail follows the Potomac River and the upper Ohio River basin which can be accessible by canoe or kayak. The trail's corridor goes through Virginia, Maryland, Washington, D.C. and Pennsylvania.
